French Press

The French Press is one of the easiest and most consistent ways to brew coffee. Great for brewing multiple cups to share, or for helping you finish your term paper. (dog not necessary for this brew method)


The Beans

  • To begin, weigh out 56 grams of freshly roasted coffee. 
  • Grind the beans very coarse, around the consistency of coarse sea salt. 
  • Place the French Press on your scale and zero it out. 


     Begin Brewing

    • Start your timer and add half the amount of water needed, around 450 grams.
    • Ensure all of the grounds are covered in water, stir if necessary. 
    • After approximately 45 seconds, begin adding the remaining water.


     Finishing The Brew

    • After adding the remaining water (900 grams total) allow the coffee to brew for 5 minutes total. 
    • Towards the end of the brew, use a spoon to skim off any grounds on the top of the water. 
    • Place the lid onto the French Press and gently press.
    • Now, serve your coffee and enjoy.
